When you come to the knowledge of the truth; that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life…All you want is for your loved ones to experience the unconditional love of Jesus, too.
As Christians, we experience the most fulfilling levels of joy knowing we’ll get to spend an eternal life in God’s great love. But we also experience intense levels of pain and sadness for our loved ones who are not in the faith…Knowing what their fate will be if they choose to reject the love of Christ.
Ecclesiastes 1:18 says “For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.”
If you’re going through the pain of watching family members or friends reject the gift Jesus gave us, you’re not alone. I’m familiar with how heartbreaking it can be.
We know firsthand, how God has changed our hearts and circumstances. We understand the atoning power of the blood of Jesus and how it has set us free from the chains of sin. We’ve experienced the living Word of God, and how it speaks to us differently every time we open the Bible.
Jesus Is The Way…
Jesus is the treasure we’re all searching for, and all we want is for our lost loved ones to find Him too. We know that the void inside of them can ONLY be filled by Christ because there is a Jesus-sized hole in each one of our hearts. God created us for an intimate relationship with Him, so when we are far from God, our very souls suffer.
But unfortunately, telling them this does little if they aren’t willing to make the personal and conscious choice to seek a relationship with God on their own.
The Holy Spirit can only come upon those who humbly accept that they are a sinner in need of saving. And since God has given us free will, we get to decide how we want to use it.
Love is a choice, and God wants us to choose Him.
So what can we do as Christians who stand in the gap between God and this lost soul?
We can pray.
Faithful prayer combined with the Word of God, is our deadliest weapon against Satan and his kingdom of darkness. When we petition the throne of God, He hears our prayers and collects every tear we cry.
Our job as Christians is to pray fervent prayer and trust in the Lord with all our hearts. At the end of the day, God has a perfect plan. And God is always on time because He stands outside of the confines of time. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.
And as much as we love this lost person, God loves them even more.

Intercessory Prayer For Lost Souls
Dear God,
Jesus is the greatest gift ever given, and It’s because of His sacrifice on the cross that I can come boldly to Your throne and know You hear my prayer. Please answer this petition according to Your will. Today, I raise (lost soul’s name) up to you in prayer.
They are lost in the dark, and You are the only One who can pull them into Your warm and wonderful light. God, I pray that You will melt their heart of stone and show them the richness of Your love and grace. Help them to turn to You in times of trouble instead of the deceitful things of this world.
You are the good shepherd, the One who will leave the 99 to rescue the lost sheep. I know every day you wake (lost soul’s name) up, is another opportunity for them to find You. As long as You are putting breath in their lungs, You aren’t finished with their story yet.
Have mercy on their soul Father and lead them on the right path. God, help them receive the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and place in them a new heart. Your plan is perfect, and Your love is unfailing. I know You love this person even more than I do, so please do whatever You must to lead them to the Kingdom of God.

We Wrestle Not Against Flesh And Blood
It’s important to note that every day we’re alive, we’re fighting the power of Satan and his kingdom of darkness. Satan’s ultimate goal is to destroy our connection with God by any means necessary. It is our sin that separates us from God, but Satan provides the temptations that lead us astray if we’re not suited up with the armor of God. When Satan tempts us, we have the choice to respond righteously or sinfully. This is an important component to consider when thinking about the lost souls we’re praying for, and on our journey with God too.
While our loved ones are still lost in the darkness, they have no defenses in the spiritual realm…except for our prayers.
They do not understand the spiritual implications of what they do, because they have not received the gift of the Holy Spirit to interpret these things.
Here is a prayer to help you go to war in the spiritual realm, against Satan and his evil spirits who are wreaking havoc in your loved one’s life.

Dear Heavenly Father,
(Lost soul’s name) is lost in the darkness. They are rightfully yours and Satan has stolen them away, and they are living in sin. I pray that you will un-harden their hearts and place in them a heart of flesh and a new spirit. Dear Father, nothing is impossible to You. You can turn anything Satan means for evil, back around for Your good.
Your blood cleanses, covers, and saves all who call on Your name. You are a consuming fire who fights for us. And You have made us conquerors through our Lord Jesus, by whom the enemy trembles. Because of Jesus, we have power and authority over the enemy, and we stand in the gap for our loved ones. Nothing I say right now can reach them, but I know You can.
They have a wounded heart and are trying to fill themselves with futile things of the world that only separate them from You more. You have made the greatest miracles happen. I pray that my loved one will be another testimony of Your love and great power… And someday they will help You to recover the lost souls of this world. Help them to leave their worldliness behind and develop a personal relationship with You. I claim them for You in the name of Jesus Christ.

Prayer For Lost Souls Who Have Left The Faith
Sometimes life can get extremely challenging, and can seriously put our faith to the test. If you have a loved one who experiencing doubt in God or has departed from the faith…Use this prayer to intercede for them and lift them up to the throne of God.
Father God,
My loved one (lost soul’s name) has strayed from the path and departed from the Christian faith. I humbly come to You today to pray that You would help them reconnect with You. Please heal their wounded heart and restore them to wholeness.
Whether they’ve been abused, endured ceaseless adversity, church hurt, or loss…Jesus, please show them that You’re still there and that You love them dearly. Send the right people to remind them of good news and that Your word is true and powerful.
You are a merciful God, wanting to rescue all of Your lost sheep. You know what this person needs for the Holy Spirit to be reignited within them. I pray that You will make Your presence known to them in a profound and powerful way. And remind them of your unfailing love for them.

If you’re feeling discouraged, and that your prayer isn’t working. Don’t give up. Don’t let Satan convince you of the lie that God doesn’t hear your prayers. Always remember that God’s plan is perfect and that God is always working…Even when it doesn’t seem that way.
Look at Apostle Paul…He was a Pharisee who persecuted Christians. Yet God chose him to minister to the Gentiles and to begin His early church. No one is too far for God’s arm to reach.
Maybe God needs our loved ones to go through certain experiences before they come to the faith. Maybe God is building testimony within them that He will use to reach hundreds, thousands, millions…
Or maybe God is using this challenge to build up YOUR prayer life, to make you into more of a prayer warrior.
Maybe He’s developing characteristics He needs all of us to have to further the Kingdom of God. God has reasons for everything, let’s trust Him with all our hearts.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
If you’re praying for a lost soul to come home to God, believe in the power of prayer. And trust that God still has a plan for their life.
