Heartbreak is one of the most intense feelings we experience in life. It can be a necessary trial to face to step into the promises God has for our lives.  

I know it’s not easy to let go of people we’ve put love, time, and effort into regardless of the circumstance… but the truth is that God has certain blessings in mind for you, that aren’t meant for everyone. 

You’re probably here because you love people very deeply and you’re having trouble coping with the loss of this relationship in your life.

One of the most life-changing realizations I’ve had about people is this:

Not everyone genuinely loves God, and therefore cannot adequately give love to others. 

I recently went through the most heart-wrenching heartbreak of my life. I had to let go of a person whom I loved dearly and who betrayed me in ways I was never expecting. I had to accept that he wanted to choose things of the world over me and he didn’t desire to truly live for God. 

I outgrew the relationship because he wasn’t willing to grow with me.

While I was coping with my broken heart, I  dove into the word of God and spent lots of time in prayer.  The Holy Spirit showed me how to see things through His lens and I was comforted by God’s presence in ways I had never experienced before. God’s righteous right hand began to open up doors of opportunity in my life and now I am happier than I’ve been in a long time. All thanks to my Lord Jesus Christ. 

So my dear sister or brother in Christ, I encourage you to allow God to become your strength. Open your heart to the amazing plan He has for you, and move forward in faith knowing that everything happens for a reason. And remember that it’s often during our seasons of brokenness that God draws nearest to us.
