Do you feel called to share your love for God but aren’t quite sure where to start? As Christians, we are called to spread the Word of God with all people, but this can certainly be a little intimidating at times.
If you’re anything like me, you might be a tiny bit introverted and not always feel quite bold enough to walk up to a stranger to share the good news… But you may also have that lovely stirring in your heart to spread the word about Jesus because you want others to experience His love and grace as well.

Seeds Of Faith Project
The Story Behind The Seeds
My idea behind this project was inspired by the parable of the sower of Matthew 13:1-23. I’ve always loved the bible’s allusion of growth and God’s use of this metaphor all throughout the new testament.
Being somewhat introverted myself, I wanted to find a way I could share my faith in more of a non-confrontational way. God blessed me with this beautiful idea that I’ve been wanting to share with those who have a passion for sharing the love of Jesus with the world that needs Him!
My hope is that these seeds of faith will inspire the finders of these unique little tracts to seek a relationship with God (or remind people that He loves them and is always with them!)
Here are the 7 Steps I use in creating my Seeds of Faith Project!
1. Get your supplies
First things first, you need supplies! Here is the list of supplies I use to build my Seed of Faith pouches!
- Package Includes: It contains 200 pack self-adhesive small parts packets envelopes for storage of coin, seed, stamps or other small parts things that are easy to lose.

I order all of these items off amazon in bulk. You can also make this project with stuff you have around the house! Find some old invitation envelopes, tiny ziplocks, and whatever seeds you have on hand!
2. Write a meaningful note
The centerpiece of this whole project is the thoughtful note you’ll include in the envelope. I frequently change the messaging in my seed packets based on what I would like to share about God.
Here is an example of what I write:
“Dear Friend,
If you have received this tiny gift, I hope it makes your day a little better. Recently, God has placed it in my heart to plant seeds in His people, to remind them of His abounding and everlasting love for them.
If this note has crossed your path, know it is no accident. And the same God who created the songs the birds sing, the mighty oceans and the beauty of the flowers created you for a specific purpose.
Jesus loves you so much and I am praying that this gift inspires you to seek Him and reminds you that He is always thinking of you.
God bless”
I print and cut out these messages, but handwriting them would add a lovely personal touch as well. Make it your own and write what you would want a stranger to know about God’s love for them, what you love about God, your testimony, or whatever else He places on your heart to share!
You can also write your messages on index cards, sticky notes or whatever paper you have.
It’s the thought that counts!
3. Pick out Bible verses
Next, I include three bible verses that I would like to share with the recipient of the seed finder. God says that faith comes by hearing the word of God, so I have faith that through sowing seeds, God will use it to grow faith in those who pick it up!
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, Neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Then I take one of my messages, and the bible verses and fold them together.
P.S
I also like to draw a sprout on the front of the message and write the parable of the sower verses (Matthew 13:1-23) on the back. I think it makes it more personal and may inspire the receiver to look into it themselves! If you have an artistic side, draw flowers, trees, or whatever little touch you feel like drawing!
4. Make flower seed pouches
Now let’s put the pouches together!
-Put some seeds in each pouch
-Include a little wooden cross (optional)
-Pull the bag closed and tie a loose knot to keep the seeds inside
5. Decorate the envelope
Next I decorate the envelopes!
I will write the name of the flower seeds on the outside i.e “Sunflower seeds”, and then “for whoever finds this” on the bottom. So whoever it crosses paths with it, will (hopefully) pick it up!
6. Put them together
Take one of your flower seed baggies and lay it on top of the note you wrote, then put it into the envelope and seal it up!
7. Sow seeds wherever you go!
Okay, now for the fun part. Bring these flower seeds with you wherever you go and leave them in public places where people are likely to find them. I love leaving them in the grocery store aisles, on benches by the beach, on gas pumps, on restaurant tables, on bookstore shelves and more.
I do also enjoy handing them out to people I feel called to give them to. Normally I don’t stay to chat, I just walk up, give someone a smile and tell them I have flower seeds for them. It’s an extremely unexpected gift that I think anyone would appreciate.
Why Make The Seeds Of Faith Project
This is a great craft to do with your little ones as well! Spend an afternoon putting these together as a fun craft/activity. Then when you’re out running errands your child will have a blast placing them around. It’s a lovely tool to teach them the importance of spreading the word of God!
We can never say what God may do with our act of faith. We can have confidence in knowing that God does amazing things every day and that He may use our project to remind someone He is there, stir up curiosity about Jesus, or plant a seed in a way we may never expect.
Additionally, this craft allows me to spend time with Jesus and do something intentional to show I love Him. I have so much fun with this project and love putting on worship music while I make them. It’s a great way to just spend time with God and be intentional with Him.
Another wonderful thing to do is pray for the recipients of your flower seed packets. Pray that a seed will be sown in their hearts if they’ve never had a relationship with God and that those who already do are reminded of God’s love for them.
