7 Beautiful Promises of God
1. Jesus has overcome all.
Jesus has already won the entire war! Hallelujah! We can rejoice knowing that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells inside us as Christians. And we can walk confidently knowing that God’s love rests upon us always. Our time on earth will be a spiritual battle, but our reward with Christ will be more beautiful than we can ever imagine!
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
Romans 8:11
2. His plans for you are good
Because we are called to suffer with Christ, we should not be surprised when we encounter difficult times in our walk with God.
There will be many occasions when we won’t be able to trace God’s hand and understand how He is working. But we can always lean on the promise that God’s plans are infinitely good, regardless of how it looks to our limited human vision.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Jeremiah 29:11
3. God hears our prayers.
When we live righteously before God and follow Him with all our hearts, we can have confidence that He hears our prayers and supplications. He cares for us, and He mourns with us when we go through hard things. Jesus understands how we are feeling and sees every detail of our circumstances.
No, it doesn’t mean He will answer every prayer. But He desires to walk through every mountain and valley with us because He loves us so much!
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:
1 John 5:14
4. God is near to you
Sometimes, we wander through life, forgetting how present our Father really is.
Life can sometimes feel tense between work, kids, bills, and other challenges. But don’t forget that God wants to be involved in even the mundane parts of our lives.
He wants us to pray about everything and walk through our lives with us. God loves it when we include Him in even our small and seemingly meaningless decisions because it shows Him that we need His guidance and wisdom in all aspects of our lives.
Talk to God throughout the day. Let Him know what’s on your mind, and pray without ceasing!
โFear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.โ
Isaiah 41:10
โAnd the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.โ
Deuteronomy 31:85
5. God will fight for you
Due to our fleshly nature, our natural response to being hurt by others is often to retaliate, but God calls us to do the exact opposite and love those who persecute us.
God calls us to be set apart in everything, including our responses to our hurts to show others the power of Christ working within us. We are ambassadors for Christ here on earth, and it’s our job to respond to situations as He would.
Whenever I’m dealing with difficult people I try to remind myself that God can see every angle of the situation. And God promises to vindicate us IF we don’t try to vindicate ourselves. Let God repay their actions, and choose to pray for them instead.
โThe LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.โ
Exodus 14:14
6. Your challenges have a purpose
Unfortunately, many modern churches don’t discuss the concept of suffering as much as they should. But suffering is an inevitable part of being a Christian.
I know we endure times that feel counterintuitive to God’s goodness, but God uses challenges to build and shape our character, show us His power in our weakness, and create incredible testimonies that help Him reach lost souls.
The truth is, God uses our times of dependence to teach us how much we need Him. When we face challenges, we rely on Him in ways we wouldn’t otherwise, and we learn things about Him that we wouldn’t encounter if things were always good.
God asks us to trust that He is good, and to put faith in Him one day at a time.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
7. Eternal life
As overwhelming as life can be sometimes, I find it helpful to remind myself that this world is not my true home.
This world is our preparation ground, and our daily mission is to do whatever we can to love like Jesus.
There is an end in sight and a promise of eternal life and peace with Jesus Christ.
When we finally finish our race with Him and are embraced by Jesus forever, there will be no more tears, conflict or pain.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
โRejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.โ
Matthew 5:12
